The World’s largest crypto exchange (in terms of trading volume), Binance has partnered up with Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo to promote Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on their platform.
What is the deal about?
Reports state that Cristiano Ronaldo has signed a multi-year partnership deal with Binance which will enable Binance to exclusively create and showcase a collection of multiple Ronaldo NFTs every year targetted toward the global soccer cum crypto lovers, especially Ronaldo’s fanbase. As per the deal, it is believed Ronaldo’s first collection of NFTs is said to be released on the Binance NFT marketplace by the end of this year.
Ronaldo further said in a statement, “My relationship with the fans is very important to me, so the idea of bringing unprecedented experiences and access through this NFT platform is something that I wanted to be a part of,”
What do the Crypto-verse and the Soccer fans think about this?
Well, the objective of this deal is pretty obvious. Binance is trying to promote its NFT marketplace and what better way to do that than partnering up with one of the world’s most famous soccer stars, Cristiano Ronaldo?
Well, this new revelation has indeed put the entire crypto-verse and soccer fans in a positive frenzy.
However, some have pointed out this entire deal to be an irony as Binance’s CEO CZ, had tweeted regarding this very matter a few weeks back that they won’t be doing any expensive partnerships or sponsorships at the moment mainly during the bear season.
It was not easy saying no to Super bowl ads, stadium naming rights, large sponsor deals a few months ago, but we did.

He had clarified that not doing these expensive sponsorships and partnerships would help them stay strong during the harsh bear seasons.
On the other hand, some of Ronaldo’s fans had also expressed their negative views regarding the deal. They called out NFTs to be “scammy” or “worthless crap”.
