American smartphone company, Motorola is back in the news with its rumoured Moto G100 smartphone. It is believed by experts that the phone first debuted in China with the name Motorola Edge S in January but now, it seems the very same phone was first spotted by 91mobiles on a Spanish retail website with the model number XT2125. Though the company hasn’t yet confirmed it to be the same phone as the previously launched Motorola Edge S, it is believed by experts that this is the same phone that will be launched globally with a different name. The new name will be the Moto G100. The Moto G100 is listed on that website to come with a quad-rear camera setup and a dual-front camera setup. The phone has been listed to come in a single colour scheme.
Moto G100 expected price
Based on the Spanish retail website, the XT2125 which is believed to be the Moto G100 is marked at EUR 479.77 (₹41,400 approx.) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. If we compare the pricing to the Moto Edge S, the phone comes in three variants in China and their pricing are as follows: the 6GB + 128GB variant is marked at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 22,600), the 8GB RAM + 128GB variant is marked at CNY 2,399 (roughly Rs. 27,000), and the 8GB + 256GB variant is marked at CNY 2,799 (roughly Rs. 31,600). As per the Spanish website, the Moto G100 is only available in a Blue colour variant but if we look at the Moto Edge S, it is available in two colour variants which are Blue and Silver.
The Moto G100 is expected to make its global debut on March 25 as Motorola had already announced that they would be hosting a launch event on that day.
Moto G100 expected specs
Motorola hasn’t made any official announcement about the alleged Moto G100‘s specs. However, if we consider the Moto G100 to be the global name of the same Moto Edge S than we could say that the phone will come with a 6.7-inch full-HD+ (1,080×2,520 pixels) display with a 90Hz refresh rate and with a brightness of 560 nits. The phone will run on Android 11 right-out-of-the-box. the phone will be powered by the Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC processor which will be backed up by a 6GB and an 8GB RAM variant. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone will support a memory expansion of up to 256GB via a microSD card. The phone will have a battery capacity of 5,000mAh that will support 20W fast charging.
In terms of the camera, the phone will come with a quad-rear camera setup at the back which will comprise of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixel depth sensor, and a time-of-flight (ToF) sensor. As for the selfies, the phone will come with a dual camera setup in the front which will comprise of a 16-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with an ultra-wide-angle lens.
The phone supports dual Nano-SIM and as for the connectivity, the phone has 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio jack along with various sensors like dual-band A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO, accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
The dimensions are 168.4 x 74 x 9.7mm and it weighs 215g.
