It is of no surprise that the world, especially India is going through a huge pandemic crisis right now. Due to the crisis, most parts of India are either under partial lockdown or full lockdown to slow down the transmission rate of the Covid-19 virus spreading among the masses. Now, the most common issue faced by the public is that most offices and business are being forced to stay shut to adhere to the lockdown protocol. So, as you may already know, most authorised service centre’s of tech firms are also forced to stay shut, in other words, many customers who are facing issues with their gadgets at this time period can’t bring their gadgets to the service centre to get their gadgets fixed or to claim their warranty and there are also a huge number of people whose gadget’s warranty end within this lockdown period. So, the issue is if the gadget’s warranty ends within the lockdown period and the customers cannot claim their device’s warranty due to it. What will happen to them?

Solution

Tech giant, OnePlus has officially announced on its OnePlus community forum page that the warranty of devices that are ending within April 1 to June 29, 2021 time period will be automatically extended up to June 30, 2021. This very similar move was taken by OnePlus during the last year when the country went into lockdown for the first time. Similarly, other tech giants like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Poco have also announced to follow the same path by extending all their products warranty due to this lockdown crisis.

OnePlus has also announced that there also may be delays in delivering ordered products to certain locations impacted by the partial or total lockdown protocol. They will try to deliver the ordered products as soon as possible once the current situation improves a little. They have also announced due to the current situations some authorised OnePlus service centres may remain close in different locations as mentioned earlier. In order to know about a service centre’s current status (open or close), a person can visit the OnePlus support page to find out the current status of a service centre that the customer wishes to visit.

Along with the above brands, Transsion India has also announced that they would also extend their warranty support for Tecno and Itel phones by 60 days.
