1. Writers’ Building
This building was established in 1777 and is more than 300 years old. This building was considered as one of the most powerful buildings in Kolkata as it once was the secretariat building of the state government of West Bengal. But nobody wants to stay here after sunset. Caretakers leave their jobs here after a month or two. But why? Well, this was the place where the famous revolutionaries Binay, Badal and Dinesh killed Captain Simpson of the East India Company who was known to treat Indian prisoners very brutally. It is believed that his ghost roams around inside this building. People can hear strange sounds of footsteps in the corridors, some times they hear the sound of giggling and random outcries. The fifth block where Simpson was killed in, is the least visited place by the staff or the people who visit here. So, nobody wants to stay in this building after sunset.
